myself as a writer

Myself as a writer

Myself as a writer, as you soon will see. I am not one of the best writers in the world. I get writers block. I have a difficult time putting my ideas together, and I have a hard time expressing myself through writing.

My very first influence in writing was someone I’ve never met. I read the Harry Potter series, and I loved them so much. I decided then that I wanted to write like that someday. I started trying to write novels. I’d come up with plots, and characters. But when I’d start to write my ideas wouldn’t come out right, and I’d sound silly. Then I decided that I hated writing, that it just wasn’t one of my talents. The next big influence on my writing was my fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Nelson. She always pushed me to just try a little harder. My writing skills improved significantly. But I still wasn’t good at writing. Then I got in high school, and Mrs. Wakefield was the poor English teacher that got stuck with me. I never paid attention and I had a bad habit of procrastinating. But she always tried to help me, she taught me not to procrastinate for one thing, and she also showed faith in me. She probably helped me more than anyone else.

I have to follow a few steps before I can write my paper. First, I have to have plenty of pop and candy around me while I’m writing, or else I get side tracked. Second, my room has to be clean, and the house has to be quiet. Third and most important, I must always check Facebook, to looking for inspiration, of course. I can’t work at a paper a little at a time, mostly because I wait until the last day to write it. But it always seems that I write better if I do it all at once.

I hate to write for other people, I hate it when other people read the things I write. I don’t mind writing for myself. My favorite thing to write is poetry, but I write it about my life. I can’t write poetry very well on a subject a teacher gives me.

I wish that I could write with more expression. I have a hard time putting myself into my writing. I do research papers very well. Because you just have to connect one fact to another.

The most important aspect of writing in my opinion is to express your feelings though your paper. To get your opinion across to the person that’s reading it.

My goal in the future is to learn how to write with more feeling, and express myself more. I hope to learn new writing skills this year, and better myself as a writer.
